Sometimes you have to go far away to tell a very human story. We're going interstellar for the first time, bringing together three titans of modern science fiction for one unmissable evening of galaxies, empires and epic imagination.
Peter F. Hamilton, hailed by New Scientist as one of science fiction's true legends, joins us with Exodus: The Helium Sea, the epic conclusion to his Archimedes Engine duology. From his first published story in 1988, Peter has become one of the genre's most celebrated names, with many bestselling series and stand-alone novels.
Making a rare visit to the UK, Christopher Ruocchio brings his internationally award-winning Sun Eater series to Shipston — one of only a handful of festival stops on this tour. Christopher sold his first novel, Empire of Silence, at just twenty-two and his work has since been translated into five languages and adapted for Marvel comics.
Completing the line-up is Adrian Tchaikovsky, the prolific and multi-award-winning author behind Children of Time, Final Architecture, Dogs of War and many more. Winner of the Arthur C. Clarke and BSFA Awards, Tchaikovsky is one of the most inventive voices in contemporary science fiction, equally at home with galaxy-spanning epics and stand-alone thought experiments.
The event will be chaired by debut sci-fi author Jesse Aragon, whose own novel Demon Star has just been published. Join us for a rare chance to hear from leading voices in science fiction as they discuss world-building, their newest books and the stories that got them there — followed by audience Q&A and signing.
